Drinks at the Gallery
Drinks at the Gallery operates every Friday and Sunday from 3pm till late in our gallery spaces. Its a time to relax with friends and meet new ones, surrounded by Neil's photographic works, open fires and beautiful courtyard.
The Friday night drinks tradition began in Clunes in the early 2000s when Penny's Wine Bar opened amid the then many vacant shops in Fraser Street. But times were starting to change for Clunes and a hint of a new future was in the air. Wesley had opened its Year 9 Campus and weekenders were starting to arrive, captivated by the frontier-like streetscape and welcoming village atmosphere. Locals and newcomers would gather informally at the wine bar to see who was in for the weekend and catch up on growing friendships. A Friday night wine bar ran in Clunes for more than a decade, with the last closing around the time of the 2011 floods.

We saw an opportunity to return this much loved tradition to Clunes village life after opening in the Gallery in 2013. We hope locals and visitors alike enjoy Drinks at the Gallery as much as we enjoyed those early wine bar nights as newcomers to Clunes. The eclectic styling and relaxing lounges invite an easy going atmosphere. In winter the warming open fires feature throughout. In the courtyard we invite you to gather around the wine barrel or pull up a chair by the bespoke fire pit made of old plough discs by Clunes local Malcolm Hull.

Our selection of house wines are available for all to enjoy at the end of a busy week, while our regional range has been personally selected so that we can share with you the best of our local wines.
